December 27, 2024 to January 07, 2025
As part of the Ngöndro retreat, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche will give teachings and empowerments on the “Preparatory Practices” (Ngöndro) of the Thukdrub Barche Künsel. Although the ngöndro is referred to as “preparation”, many masters emphasize that this practice can also be considered the main practice.
The practice consists of taking refuge, developing bodhichitta, the purification practice of Vajrasattva, mandala offerings and guru yoga. In addition, the month-long retreat also includes the practice of protection, Chöd and wishful prayers.
Rinpoche will teach about the correct view for these practices, which are all based on insight into the nature of the mind, and through the power of his meditation experience, enable us to recognize them for ourselves.
Who can take part?
The teachings and empowerments are mainly intended for the more than 100 participants of the retreat. However, we would of course like to give anyone who is interested the opportunity to take part.
Accommodation
As the retreat starts on January 2nd, all beds in Gomde will be occupied from this date. Accommodation only for the seminar with Rinpoche in Gomde will therefore not be possible. We ask you to book accommodation in the surrounding area. To get to Gomde you can use the Salzkammergut Shuttle from Viechtwang train station, or you can come by car. There are only very few dormitory places available.
Timetable
On the days before the New Year, three nuns from Nagi Gompa and a learned monk from Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling will join us in practicing and giving teachings on Ngöndro practice. Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche will arrive in Gomde around New Year.
The exact schedule for his seminar will not be finalized until shortly beforehand. However, it is expected that Rinpoche will teach in Gomde from around January 3 to January 7, with a break on January 5.
Costs
Gomde would like to make participation in Dharma teachings possible for all interested parties. To make this possible, we ask for a donation, according to self-assessment. The orientation value includes the participation in this seminar, the practice with our ordained Sangha as well as the meals on site and
is 75 Euro per day. If an overnight stay in Gomde is possible, we ask for a donation of 108 euros per day. If this amount exceeds your means, please let us know when you register or write to office@gomde.eu. If you can give more, you will enable someone with fewer resources to participate.
