Turning Suffering and Happiness into the Path to Awakening- Erric Solomon

Take whatever comes your way on to the path.

This seminar is based on the heart advice given by Dodrupchen Jigme Tempe Nyima, one of the late 19th century’s most revered masters. This text gives us the key to turning our ordinary thought processes, emotions and experiences, joys and sorrows into a constant, welcome support for our own awakening. Everything that we experience becomes food for our spiritual nourishment.

Commenting on a 13th-century Tibetan text that contains instructions and practical advice for everyday spiritual living, Lama Zopa Rinpoche teaches us how to be happy by literally changing our attitude, permitting us to live a happy and relaxed life despite our external circumstances. Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s unique style brings the text contemporary relevance, making it valuable to everyone, whatever their spiritual background.

Many modern Buddhist masters have commented that this teaching is especially appropriate for helping us meet the chaos and challenges of modern life— as the effects of pandemic, war, climate change, political chaos and economic hardship are felt by almost everyone.

By learning to work with our own mind, becoming familiar with its innermost secrets, we can come to know that sorrow and joy are workable, arising not just from circumstances, but from our habitual way of reacting. When we begin to taste this, we become fearless and able to meet whatever circumstances we encounter with compassion and wisdom.

In order to make your stay enjoyable, our team at Gomde will offer healthy, delicious food. Also, cozy single or double rooms are available.

Yoga

In the morning, we will put this experience into practice with yoga-inspired physical exercises led by experienced yoga and bodywork teacher Cecilia Pla.
We will learn how to work with our bodies to make them softer, stronger and more relaxed.
The lightness of the body will also help the mind to become calmer and more balanced.

Gomde offers you the ideal environment to recharge. Whether it’s mindful walks through our meditation path, refreshing swims in the swimming pond, fresh meals with ingredients from our vegetable garden, the comfortable rooms, or the friendly company- you will feel at home and take that feeling home with you.
