Ngöndro practice is often referred to as a “preliminary practice”, but many eminent masters, including Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, see it as the heart of the practice because it combines all the essential aspects of the Dharma. It enables us to develop a stable foundation, purify the mind and accumulate merit – a powerful basis for all further practices.
These intensive practice days offer you the opportunity to devote yourself entirely to Ngöndro practice over two weekends and a week in between. Participation is flexible: you can spend one of the weekends, both or the whole week in Gomde – depending on your available time.
Content and Programme
During these days we will deepen the recitation and meditation of the Ngöndro practice, based on the reading transmissions and empowerments given by Rinpoche during the winter.
- Friday: One group session
- Saturday: Four intensive practical sessions.
- Sunday: Two in-depth sessions.
- During the week: The number of joint sessions depends on the number of participants. There is also the possibility of individual practice times and joint sessions with the nuns at any time.
At certain times we organize translation for the nuns so that you can ask questions about the practice and receive valuable guidance.
Community and inspiration
Practicing in a group helps you to stay focused and get deeply involved in the practice. The presence of nuns who have been practicing Ngöndro for decades is inspiring and strengthens your own devotion and presence.
Requirements for participation
To take part in these practice days, you should either have already started your ngöndro or be ready to start it. Necessary requirements are:
- Taking refuge
- The reading transfer for Ngöndro practice
- In the best case also the authorization of Rinpoche
These days offer a wonderful opportunity to deepen your practice, accumulate merit and dedicate yourself to the Dharma in an inspiring environment.
Your contribution
We want to make it possible for everyone to participate in the seminars in Gomde. Therefore we offer the seminars, accommodation and meals for a donation and give you an orientation value, which amount would help Gomde to cover the fixed costs.
For this seminar: 240 euros for individual weekends
700 For the entire period (two weekends and the week in between)
Individual days during the week: 55 euros
If you can give more, you will enable others with fewer financial resources to participate. If you can give less than the guideline value, please let us know when you register.
