Tara is a female manifestation of the Buddha who primarily embodies swift, compassionate action and transcendent wisdom. The sadhana we will be practicing on this practice weekend is the outer Tara sadhana from the treasure text Zabtik Drolma. It is also known as the sadhana of the essence of the two aggregates. This practice text is used in many traditions of Tibetan Buddhism and is known for its extraordinary blessing power.
We will connect with Tara’s enlightened qualities of boundless wisdom and unconditional compassion to act for the benefit of all sentient beings. Especially in this day and age, her practice holds countless benefits and brings forth the great power of her compassion and blessings.
For practitioners of the online program “Tara´s Triple Excellence”, this seminar is well suited to practice the outer Tara sadhana. We will recite the sadhana together and receive teachings from Ani Kunga. Ideally, you should already have experience in sadhana practice or be able to engage in Tibetan recitation.
Some previous experience in Buddhist philosophy and practice is also an advantage, for example a seminar with Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche or a weekend seminar with our experienced Lamas. If you do not have this previous experience but feel a strong interest in sadhana practice, please register anyway and let us know in the comments section. An empowerment is helpful, but not essential, for participation in this seminar.
Schedule
We will start on February 14th at 10 am with the preparations, the making of the tormas and the erection of the shrine. On the same day, at 4 pm, we will start the sadhana practice. Ani Kunga and the other nuns from Nagi Gompa will guide us through several practices per day. The seminar will end on Sunday, February 16th at 12 noon.
