Move it: Healthy Body, Healthy Mind

Event Info

Date & Time:

February 12 - February 14

Meditation and movement complement each other beautifully: as the body becomes more supple and at ease, the mind can also relax. As the mind settles, we create more space to listen to our body and respond to it with care.

This retreat with Lama Thierry and Cecilia Pla brings together Buddhist meditation and mindfulness with yoga and gentle bodywork. In the inspiring surroundings of Rangjung Yeshe Gomde, we take time to release stress, restore our energy, and support our physical and emotional well-being.

Meditation and Mindfulness for a Healthy Mind

Under Lama Thierry’s guidance, we practise calming the mind and developing a clear, open presence. Guided meditations invite us to step out of habitual patterns of thinking and relate to ourselves with greater kindness.

Together, we explore how meditation and mindfulness can help us respond more consciously to stress, nurture emotional balance, and develop habits that support our well-being in everyday life. The guidance is accessible to beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

Yoga and Gentle Movement for a Healthy Body

Cecilia Pla guides gentle movement sessions inspired by yoga, dance, and the Feldenkrais Method. The focus is on mobility, body awareness, and a nourishing balance between movement and rest.

We explore ways to ease tension, gently mobilise the body, and become more attentive to its needs. Rather than striving for perfect postures, we cultivate joy in movement and a respectful awareness of our individual abilities and limits.

Medicine Buddha Practice

February 14 is a Medicine Buddha day in the Tibetan lunar calendar. To mark this occasion, we may also include a Medicine Buddha practice following the Tibetan tradition. This combines meditation and recitation with a compassionate aspiration for health and healing for ourselves and all beings.

A Retreat for Everyone Who Wishes To …

… care for body and mind, deepen their meditation practice, and bring more movement and mindfulness into their life.

These three days offer space to settle, replenish your energy, and discover practical inspiration for a healthier daily life.

Fresh, Nourishing Food

Our kitchen team supports the retreat with delicious vegetarian meals prepared using regional and seasonal ingredients wherever possible. Fresh and balanced, they nourish your well-being and provide energy for your practice. Vegan meals and special dietary requirements can be accommodated by prior arrangement.

Schedule and Format

The retreat begins at 4:00 pm on the first day and ends after lunch on the final day. Please arrive by 3:30 pm to allow time to check in and settle.

The daily programme alternates between meditation, mindful movement, and Tonglen—a Buddhist meditation for cultivating compassion—with time for rest and relaxation between sessions.

Everyone is welcome. No previous experience of meditation or yoga is required. You are encouraged to practise within your own physical abilities and adapt the movements to your needs.

Your Contribution

Suggested donation: €240

We want everyone to have the opportunity to attend retreats at Gomde. We therefore offer the seminar, accommodation, and meals on a donation basis. The suggested donation provides guidance for a contribution towards our operating costs.

If you are able to give more, your generosity helps make participation possible for those with fewer financial resources. If the suggested donation is beyond your means, please let us know in advance: nanda@gomde.eu.
