Places of change - \nAs part of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl and Salzkammergut 2024<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The six installations were developed over two semesters by students from the University of Innsbruck, University of Kassel and University College London (UCL)\/Bartlett School of Architecture as part of teaching and research – project studios, seminars and excursions, doctoral research. Each university realized two designs. The task was to create Sites of Transformation, meditation and power that are in harmony with nature on the grounds of the Gomde Center. In addition, the

The Students at the University of Kassel have developed and implemented installations with steam-bent larch wood, joints that can only be dismantled and AR technology. The University of Innsbruck has chosen rammed earth technology for the realization of its two installations. <\/span>. The designs by the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture are based on extensive research by <\/span>two PhD theses focusing on acoustics, space and performance. <\/span>. The concept and design were developed in the winter semester 2023\/2024. In the summer semester 2024 <\/span>six of the designs were worked out and finally built. During excursion weeks at the Gomde Center, lecturers and students from the three universities immersed themselves in the Buddhist world. <\/span>meditation rituals and got to know the residents of the center as well as local experts and<\/span>

“The six interventions as part of ‘Places of Change’ are a good example of how important places of silence are in today’s society, where we can recharge our mental and emotional batteries and gain clarity about the changes we are confronted with.
