At Rangjung Yeshe Gomde you can learn and practice authentic Tibetan Buddhism and meditation. Our seminar program offers many possibilities for both experienced, practicing Buddhists, as well as beginners and interested people.
Located in a natural and scenic setting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Gomde offers the ideal environment to devote yourself to looking inward and finding harmony within yourself and your environment.
Situated in the idyllic hills of the Almtal, since 2004, with much love and dedication, the original farm has been extensively renovated, expanded and adapted to create an ideal place for meditation.
Compassion. Wisdom. Meditation
In the daily meditation sessions, seminars and in everyday life we try to develop and fully embody unbiased loving-kindness, compassion and wisdom through the training of our own minds. This exercise is based on the insight that the primordial awareness (rangjung yeshe), which possesses these very qualities, is inherent in every living being.
Gomde’s life, cooperation, and seminars are an expression of the Buddhist education of the heart and mind, which is sustained by an attitude of joy and generosity. Mindfully interacting with one another, as well as harmony and tolerance are a central concern.
Authentic Tibetan Buddhism in the Heart of Europe
Under the direction of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, the centre’s patron, the Guth zu Rath on Bäckerberg was acquired in 2004, and has since been renovated and expanded with the loving efforts of volunteers and generous donations from sponsors.
Gomde supports and promotes the study, reflection, and practice of all Buddhist traditions through seminars and teachings, in particular the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of the Chokling Tersar lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
Gomde is a part of the public and cultural life of the Almtal region and the province of Upper Austria and acts in the interests of the common good.
The center is a member of the ÖBR (Austrian Buddhist Religious Community).
