Transform your mind with Buddhist Philosophy

July 14 - 7:30 - July 30 - 12:00

In this reteat you will have the rare opportunity to learn from a very known monastic Buddhist Scholar practitioner of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery.
Khenpo Pema Namgyal will introduce us to the basics and profundities of the Tibetan Buddhist school of thought.
Dr. Julia Stenzel will help us gain a deeper understanding by facilitating reflection groups and challenging us to apply the teachings to our experiences.
By practicing Yoga or QiGong, going for walks or taking a swim in the center´s own pond, we will have enough inner space and relaxation to let everything learned sink in.

Jewel Ornament of Liberation- A profound text to transform our mind and habits

“The Jewel Ornament of Liberation,” composed by the 11th-century Tibetan master Gampopa, is a profound and fundamental text of the Tibetian Buddhist canon that all students are encouraged to read and study as it lays out the Buddhist view and practice from A to Z”.  This is a fundamental text for one who wishes to gain a thorough and complete understanding of the Buddhist path. The text expounds on six fundamental points: (1) Buddha Nature; (2) the Precious Human Life; (3) the Spiritual Master; (4) the Methods or Instructions (includes explanations on: impermanence, karma, refuge, bodhichitta training, the five paths and the ten bhumis); (5) Perfect Buddhahood and; (6) the Activities of the Buddha.
We will study and reflect on these points from an academic perspective and also, find ways to implement these teachings in our day-to day life, sincerely following the way of practice that Gampopa is showing us.
