Summer Seminar with Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche: The Four Seals and the Lamp that dispells all Darkness

September 5 - 10:00 - September 13 - 19:00

“It is about an open heart and a clear mind. An open heart is full of compassion for all beings, Mahakaruna in Sanskrit. A clear mind understands the emptiness of all phenomena, Shunyata in Sanskrit. Developing this unconditional compassion and wisdom is the goal of our practice.”

Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche

We are happy to announce that our beloved teacher,
Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche will come to Gomde again.

Topics of the seminar

05.- 08.09. Indisputable Truth: The Four Seals that Mark the Teachings of the Awakened Ones”

In this inspiring seminar, Rinpoche will convey the essence of Buddhist teachings in a clear, structured, and profound manner. The truth of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and peace will be brought to life through Rinpoche’s lucid guidance, allowing you not only to understand the concepts but also to apply them in your daily life.

The four special characteristics or “seals” distinguish a philosophical view or spiritual path as uniquely Buddhist. In short, they represent the “indisputable truth” of reality from a Buddhist perspective.

The Four Seals are:

Everything conditioned is impermanent. All defiling states are painful. All phenomena are empty and devoid of self-entity. Nirvana is peace.

In this year’s seminar, Rinpoche will delve step by step into these succinct yet profound statements so that the listeners can truly comprehend their meaning, apply them to their everyday experiences, and easily distinguish authentic Buddhist teachings from those that merely claim to be “words of the Buddha.”

09.09. Ngakso

Emaho! This practice of peaceful and wrathful deities renews broken Samayas and tantric vows. Additionally, this practice is recommended for accompanying the deceased. Celebrating such a special day with a meditation master and being guided in this powerful practice with our Vajra brothers and sisters is an incredible opportunity and blessing. By purifying our Samayas, our body, speech, and mind, we create ideal conditions for the practice of the Dharma!

During the meditation sessions, Rinpoche will provide explanations on this wonderful practice. The Tibetan term “Ngak-so” refers to a tantric practice of restoring and purifying broken Samayas.

10.09.- 13.09 A lamp that dispells the darkness

Rinpoche will skillfully guide us through the wisdom encapsulated in „The Lamp to Dispel Darkness“—a concise and powerful meditation manual crafted by the renowned master, Jampal Dorje Mipham.
Through the profound techniques of ‘Cutting Through,’ an advanced Dzogchen meditative practice, Mipham Rinpoche illuminates the way for us, the modern-day yogis entangled in the busyness of everyday life.

The Lamp to Dispel Darkness will shed light on the intricacies of your mind, offering you the tools to dispel doubts and pave the way for transformation.

It’s not uncommon to feel uncertain or encounter obstacles on the path of meditation, regardless of your level of experience. Even seasoned practitioners find themselves in need of guidance to refine their practice and overcome subtle distractions and challenges. That’s why we are thrilled to offer you the precious advice of the old awakened masters who have traversed this path before us, triumphing over similar hurdles and ultimately realizing the true nature of the mind.

This seminar is a unique opportunity to receive direct teachings from a living master, drawing from the centuries-old lineage of wisdom and insight. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, whether a beginner or a seasoned meditator, this event promises to inspire, invigorate, and empower you.

Your stay at Gomde

Here you can find information about how to arrive at Gomde and what could be useful to know in preparation of your stay.

Give a hand

Since Gomde is run solely by volunteers, the help of all participants is needed at the seminar. So every participant can donate a part of his time for this precious event and make it possible.
After mutual agreement each participant gets a “Yogi Job” for about 20-45 min daily.
For example: helping in the kitchen, vacuuming, cleaning the sanitary facilities etc.
We are very happy about your help and we try to find a suitable task for everyone.

Your contribution to this seminar

It is incredible good fortune that we will have our founder, abbot, and our spiritual director Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche back with us in Gomde for eight whole days to share his teachings with all of you.

Rangjung Yeshe Gomde would like to make it possible for all interested in participating in the immensely precious Dharma teachings. The center provides you with good food, as much as possible, a place to sleep, and the infrastructure for all visitors. A stable team of volunteers maintains the place, renovates it, and keeps it running all year round. Others give a regular contribution, others give one-time donations, and others donate to attend seminars.

For a big seminar like the one with Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, many costs have to be covered: e.g., air tickets, donations to the teachers, the translators, energy costs, and so on.

The economic world situation is also a time of great financial strain for the center, the prices for food, energy, and daily use products are very high, and
the center is also feeling this strongly. We want everyone to be able to attend the seminars in Gomde, regardless of their income. To cover the fixed costs, nevertheless, we give orientation values for an appropriate donation contribution. We thank you in advance for your generosity and for appreciating the value of this opportunity. Please consider in your self-assessment the amounts you spend on food, vacations, and recreation daily.
Each person who is able to give more makes it possible for others with fewer resources to attend the seminar and maintain the Center.
