Magnetizing wisdom and compassion – Kurukulle Retreat

April 13 - 15, 2018

Price: 150 Euro ( suggested donation to cover fixed costs)

Kurukulle, also known as Pema Khandro, is the dynamic manifestation of Red Tara. She is the feminine embodiment of Enlightened Wisdom and appears as a semi-wrathful dakini skilled in magnetizing all possible resources. Popular in all Tibetan Buddhist traditions the red dakini is like a magnet that attracts wisdom, happiness, health, wealth and long life.

The practice of Kurukulle is a terma, or 'hidden treasure,' revealed by Chokyur Lingpa. It is extracted from the 40 volumes of practices and scriptures which form the collection of Chokgyur Lingpa's discovered termas known as the Chokling Tersar.

During this retreat our practice will be based on the sadhana (practice text) of Kurukulle. The practice text covers all the aspects of the path to enlightenment – developing altruistic motivation: turning away from self-centered motivations: cultivating a calm, clear, and balanced mind: realizing the true nature of our mind and all phenomenon which ultimately frees us from all suffering.

The practice involves a good deal of chanting and vizualisation as well as silent sitting meditation. Every day Lama Tenzin will give teachings and answer questions on the practice.

Here is some information about Lama Tenzin. In 1975 Lama Tenzin Sangpo joined Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in Nepal and was raised under the loving care of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche and Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche, Lama Tenzin received an extensive education in all aspects of the spiritual path.

He completed the traditional three-year retreat and is among the most respected members of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery. Serving as the chant leader at major Buddhist ceremonies and conducting meditation seminars all over the world, he joyfully shares his deep knowledge of Buddhist views and practices with anyone who wants to experience The Buddha Dharma.

To participate in this retreat it would be ideal for you to have received the Kurukulle empowerment from a qualified master. If this is not the case, but you still feel drawn to the retreat, you are very welcome. The seminar starts with your arrival at Gomde by 16.00 on the first day and finishes after lunch on the last day. It is also possible to join for a day or more, at any time during the retreat.

The suggested donation for the retreat is 290€. This is calculated to keep Gomde running throughout the year.If you wish to make a smaller offering, please email us. If, at the same time, you feel generous and wish to offer more to Gomde, you are always welcome to help make another person’s retreat possible through your contribution.
